Flyers Soaring to the Top

With approximately 20 games left in the NHL regular season, the Philadelphia Flyers are holding down the no. 1 spot in the East.

The Flyers are 40-16-6 (wins, losses and over times) so far this season. They were the runner-ups in last year's Stanley Cup Finals, losing to the Chicago Blackhawks by a score of 4-3 in the sixth game of the finals.

Philadelphia is the second leading scoring team in the NHL with 86 points and trail the Vancouver Canucks by only three points for the league's lead.

The Flyers are in a good position to make it back to the finals and possibly redeem themselves against the defending champs, who are currently in fourth with a record of 35-23-6.

The NHL playoffs are coming near, and teams are making their final moves to improve their chances in trying to become the 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Finals Champions.
