The Philadelphia "Vicks"

The Philadelphia Eagles will place a franchise tag on Michael Vick during the off-season, according to ESPN reports.

The tag shows all implications that Vick will be the Eagles quarterback of the future. So where does that leave Kevin Kolb?

The Eagles will entertain trade talks from teams interested in the 26-year-old quarterback, according to multiple sources.

Kolb owns a 73.2 career quarterback rating, has thrown for 2,082yrds, 11tds and 14ints while completing 60.8 percent of his passes in his career.

If Kolb is traded, Vick's backup quarterback will be Mike Kafka (as of now), the second-year quarterback out of Northwestern University.

Player of the Year Candidates

Each team in the NCAA has their respective basketball stars, but only the athletes who propel their teams to outstanding records become Player of the Year candidates.

The athletes who have performed at an optimal level game-in-and-game-out, and have earned the right to be a P.O.Y. candidate are Jimmer Fredette of #9 BYU, Kemba Walker of #5 UConn and Jared Sullinger of #1 OSU.

BYU's senior star, Fredette who averages 27.4pts, led his team to a 20-1, (7-0 in the Mountain West conference) start so far this season. On Jan. 27, he scored 43pts en route to a 71-58 win over the former unbeaten and #4 team in the nation, San Diego State University. He is the only player to score 40pts multiple times this season.

UConn's junior leader, Walker leads the young Huskies with 24.4ppg and has hit multiple game-winning shots for his team this year. The Huskies are 17-2 (5-2 in the Big East), and have their next Big East match up against #19 Louisville.

OSU's freshman big man, Sullinger averages17.7ppg and 10rebs in 21 games this season for the top team of all the land. The Buckeyes are the only undefeated team left (21-0, 8-0 in the Big Ten) after they showed their dominance by beating #12 Purdue 87-64 on Jan. 25.

Each player has played consistently throughout the season, but only one player can be named the NCAA Player of the Year.
